Sharks And Plastic Pollution In Our Oceans

This image of a shark exploding out of the water in a spray of foam and plastic garbage was created as a stock photo to bring attention to the environmental and ecological issues facing our planet today. Sharks are an interesting case in the world of symbolic imagery. We humans seem to have an instinctual fear of them, and yet at the same time we have a tremendous respect for them and recognize their importance in the balance of life. I believe it makes sharks a perfect visual for bringing attention to the dangers and threats that face our oceans...and ultimately...us. 

This particular shark image, blasting up out of a sea of refuse, adds the impact of action to the image making it all the more memorable and powerful in its environmental message.
