Teamwork, Conflict And Bicycles Built For Two

This image of a couple riding a bicycle built for two is a metaphor for concepts such as teamwork (or lack of it), conflict and relationship difficulties. A man looks straight ahead in mid-pedal while his riding partner looks back in irritation as she pedals in the opposite direction. This image makes a great advertisement for products and services that promote teamwork and co-operation. If a consultant can help get people "on the same page" they can use this image to promote themselves and their business. This tandem bike shot has been carefully constructed to make cropping to any format simple while keeping ample copy space for the use of art directors, photo editors and designers.

Tandem Bicycle Stock Photos

Unlike most tandem bicycle stock photos, this tandem bike has the riders competing with each other and headed in opposite directions. This is a perfect example of a unique concept image that has a twist that separates it from other similar bicycle shots and draws a viewers attention. The image is a quick read even at thumbnail sizes and the message, which can vary according to headlines and body copy, is clear and compelling. 

Tandem Bikes, Humor, And Social Media Communications

One thing that helps this tandem bike, especially in regards to the potential of viral social media proliferation, is the humor of having two riders pedaling in opposite directions. Two sets of handle bars and front forks is further indication of the confusion of not having a clear leader. This image then becomes one addressing issues of leadership and training. In fact, the potential ideas communicated in a memorable way by this photo are almost unlimited! The only limits for its use is the creativity of the potential users. Other symbolic references of bicycling include balance, skill and stamina. This particular image with cyclists headed in opposite directions on the same bike brings in the concepts of challenge and obstacles.

To create this photo I photographed the tandem bicycle and the riders in my studio. Next I photographed the road on Mount Tamalpais. Then it was simply a few hours of Photoshop work.
