Connecting Through Social Media

Social media is all about connecting and the act and process of connecting is wonderfully illustrated by this image featuring two hands coming together in a very spiritual and Michelangelo Sistine Chapel like scene in which their fingers are only separated by an intense burst of light. The background of the image is made up of well over a hundred individual portraits representing "the crowd", tribes and fan bases that are linked together via social media sites on the Internet. I created the image to be used in advertising and editorial offerings for companies and consultants that offer guidance, products and services to those who wish to make the most of social networking.

Hands have always been important symbols of connecting, of reaching out to others, and of solidarity.
