Gears In The Cloud

Illustrating something as ethereal as the Internet is no easy undertaking, and yet this image of gears revealed within a cloudscape, makes a perfect metaphor for the infrastructure of the Internet. The clouds represent "The Cloud", the word and image now given to online computing, archiving and networking. Gears, of course, are a perfect metaphor for things that work, for business and industry, and for complex relationships like the ones that exist within the framework of the world wide web and Internet.

When everything meshes as it should then the whole really does become greater than the sum of its parts and cloud computing is revealed to be a significant step forward.

Gears also make a great symbol of technology. When combined with clouds, the new symbol of the Internet, one has a perfect image for advertising and promoting products and services that are needed to establish and maximize efficiency in cloud computing.
