A very large and fat anthropomorphic cat sits on a scale in a pink bathroom and looks totally satisfied in this funny feline photo. This humorous animal picture is one of John Lund's Animal Antics funny pet photos for stock photo use, humorous greeting cards, and holiday gifts and merchandise.

How To Create Funny Fat Cat Photos

To create this funny fat cat we photographed this tabby from a variety of angles. We worked from a drawing or layout to insure that we managed to capture each part of the cat in the position and lighting that we needed. The photography was done in my studio using a Canon 1DS MKIII and Profoto and Speedotron strobe lights. We also photographed a section of linoleum flooring and the art director's bathroom. The parts were then assembled in CS5 (Photoshop). We have about three hours worth of photography and a day's worth of Photoshop time in the completed picture. Of course the role of our art director, Collette Kulak, should not be minimized!

Fat Cats, Funny Cats, And Cat Lovers

Any cat lover is bound to appreciate this funny fat cat image. Cats, you see, do care what they look like. That is obvious when one thinks about the time cats spend grooming. But as much as they care about their appearances, I do not believe they worry about being overweight! I think cats have a deep innate sense of their own worth that transcends their personal fitness and appearance attributes.
