Photographing Elephants in Thailand

The elephant in this funny picture was photographed in Thailand while the background was from Marin County in California. The image was composited together using Photoshop. The elements were all captured with Canon digital cameras. This image can be used to illustrate a variety of concepts including contemplation, getting away from it all, inner journeys, peace and relaxation.

Spending Time with Elephants at the Anantara Elephant Camp

Stephanie and I spent three days at the Anantara Elephant camp in Thailand (near Chiang Raiin the Golden Triangle) learning the basics of being an elephant Mahout. It was great fun and allowed us plenty of access to photograph these amazing creatures.
