Tips For Photographing Your Dog

The tips I can offer for photographing your dog is as follows: First, get down on their level. Doing so offers a different perspective on your dog than we normally see and is there for inherently more interesting. Secondly, get their attention. Dogs generally look best when they are alert, ears up and eyes looking right into the lens. Thirdly, make sure their eyes are sharp. A lot of soft focus can be overlooked if your canine's eyes are sharp and in focus! Fourth, get a catch light reflected in their eyes. A small on camera flash can work well for this...and it can also help fill any distracting shadows.
