To create the lol dog photos for my Animal Antics series of images I work from a layout or drawing to insure that I get all of the parts that I need for my composites. Tips I would offer for those who want to create their own LOL dog photos is to start with patience, and lots of it. Add to that ample light, a high enough shutter speed to stop the action, focusing on the eyes, and getting down to your pet's level. Then it is back to that patience, combined with alertness, so that when that magic moment does happen you are ready and can capture the instant.

Working With Dogs in Photography

I work with dogs a lot in my photography, and I have to admit I find them wonderful to work with. Almost without exception they are eager to please...though often they just can't figure out what strange thing it is that I am asking them to do. Bloodhounds sure don't like to lie on their backs, Beagles don't like to be held upside down, and English Bulldogs don't seem to want to do anything! But we always have fun and hope that our animal talent does as well. They certainly seem to enjoy the treats we reward them with!
