Overwhelming Quantities of Garbage and Waste

This image is about overwhelming quantities of garbage and waste dramatized to help get the point across that we are simply producing too much waste. We need to simply our lives; get back to basics, and recycle and reduce the quantity of waste products that we are fill our oceans and landfills with. This image is one of a series that I am producing to draw attention to the problems of being a consumer society and with being out of touch with the realities of what we are doing to our planet earth. Other images in the series include a mountain of garbage and an ocean wave filled with debris and waste products.

This series of ecologically and environmentally oriented stock photos will be an ongoing effort. It is my intention to create images with a morbid beauty to them, if seen with soft eyes even the beauty of doom can be glimpsed. I want to create images that fascinate the viewer, drawing them in to look at the details, to feel the emotion, and to ultimately take some action to change the course of polluting, waste and environmental suicide that we have embarked upon. Images that help move business as well as individuals into thinking about sustainability. In reality, there are beaches, even in resort and spa areas, such as this beach literally awash with trash, garbage and pollution. This beach was photographed at an expensive resort near Chennai, India.
