In this slow motion video a woman's butt is snapped by a towel. With the help of the slow motion capture we can see waves from the impact ripple through her flesh. Ouch! When a towel is snapped like that it can have tremendous force. I remember once, as a child, I snapped a light switch with a towel and it broke the switch right off the wall! With the slow motion video we are able to seeing ordinary things in an extraordinary way. One would never guess how one's flesh ripples when impacted, but with this 1000 framer per second video we can see with startling clarity how the skin and underling tissue ripples with the force of the towel striking.My partner in capturing this video is Stephanie Roeser. She came up not only with the idea, but also provided a pretty incredible butt! Talk about good natured, I had to practice snapping her derriere over and over again to get the hang of it for the actual capture. Thanks Steph!

The difficulty of capturing a snapping towel on a woman's butt with a crew of one!

The tricky part of capturing this slow motion video was that I had to set everything up, press the shutter release button, then take three quick steps in front of the camera, then accurately snap the towel on Stephanie's butt. I had a total of about three-and-a-half seconds to get it right. To further complicate matters, because of the lighting set-up, I had to use my left hand to wield the towel. It took us about five tries to get it right. I guess it was harder on Stephanie than it was me! Oh well....
