A Businessman Displays Skill On The Pommel Horse.

Hispanic businessman dismounting from pommel horse. Athletic prowess is often used as a metaphor for business. Why not take it a bit further, and have the athlete actually wearing a suit? That is exactly what we did when shooting this stock shot. The shoot took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We found a gymnasium that was open to renting us their facility. They were also able to provide the contact information for some of the gymnasts who practice there. We interviewed the gymnasts and selected one man and one woman. We had the man wear a suit. Miraculously the suit survived the shoot! We really put him through his paces having him do routines on the pommel horse, the parallel bars, the rings, the uneven parallel bars and even a bit of posing on the balance beam...not a male's apparatus. We used ProFoto strobes combined with the existing lighting. By using the flash equipment we are able to control our lighting making it crisper and more dramatic. This shot illustrates business themes such as skill, confidence and peak performance. It speaks of performance under pressure, and performance is a huge part of the modern business world. In addition, since we aren't used to seeing athletes performing while wearing business attire, we tend to stop and look more closely at the image.
