Lighthouse Storm

This image is of a bright lighthouse shining out over very stormy seas. This photo can be licensed for stock use through Getty Images. This lighthouse image has added drama due to the tilting of the frame and the dramatic wide-angle view. The shot is from the perspective of a ship or boat at sea. The beacon of light penetrates the gloom of the storm and offers safety and a successful journey. This stock picture can be cropped vertically for a magazine cover or horizontally for two-page spreads or billboards. The dramatic nature of the image, and its graphic simplicity, insures a quick read even at thumbnail size making it perfect for Internet and web uses. Any company that offers products or services that help business people deal with and overcome challenges and adversity can make effective use of this image in their communications, promotions and advertising. The severity and danger of the storm is emphasized by the distant lightning striking the turbulent waters. This would be a difficult if not impossible image to capture in real life. I created this lighthouse in a storm picture by utilizing a number of images and compositing them together in Photoshop. The lighthouse is Pigeon Point lighthouse, an historic lighthouse off the coast of Northern California. The waters were waves, each photographed individually, off of Ocean Beach on the western side of San Francisco. The lightning was photographed in, of all places, Ladakh, the captial city of the geo-political region of Ladkah in Northern India.
