When Pigs Fly

Pictures of flying pigs...an iconic photograph that we all know means something that will never happen. In this photo each swine has a pair of feathered wings and is soaring through the sky, photographic proof that pigs really can fly!. This photograph can be licensed for stock use though Getty images. This picture can be used for themes such as doing the impossible, success, challenge, and freedom. the motivation for me to create this image came about when around 1991 a leading Photo magazine predicted that someday pigs would fly and Photoshop would be useful for high end work. Ok, it was really slow (my Mac FX could rotate a 30 meg file in about half an hour), but I was already doing high end work. To prove it I created this image of Flying Pigs. I used the wings from an Egret I photographed near Mill Valley in Marin County, California. When I first started my career I had an agricultural client who hired me to photograph Allflex ear tags. I used to go out and attached the ear tags to the pigs and then photograph them. Hard to imagine now! But that was thirty years ago and things were a bit different then. Can you imagine photographing pigs in a barn housing 2000 of them? Phew! I had pig doo doo on my equipment for years! Oh well...
