Powerful Images of Women And Rhinos

This photo definitely comes under the heading of powerful images of women as it features a fearless woman astride a charging rhinoceros, her red dress and long hair flowing behind her. The image is an attention grabbing visual that arrests a viewer with its unlikely and other-worldly quality. This image is about boldness, strength, and daring. The image can also be seen as man (or woman) harnessing the power of nature. Rhinos are symbols of the raw, brute power of nature, and the visual of an image riding a rhino is a metaphor for someone in command of that power.

Charging Rhinos And Powerful Women

In this image of a charging rhino being ridden by a powerful women, the woman has an intense but calm expression. She is riding the beast bareback and shoeless which further adds to the natural aspect of the picture. She rides the rhino across an empty plain that stretches out as far as the eye can see. The vivid red of the dress immediately captures one's attention in a compelling illustration that can fit many business concepts. The image has been crafted with ample copy space no matter the crop be it vertical, horizontal or square. The plain, simple background makes an ideal space for copy and headlines that a photo editor, art director, or designer may deem to use when using the image for an advertisement or editorial layout.

Any woman that can ride a rhinoceros is a powerful woman. That she is riding such a wild creature is testimony to her skill, achievement and success as well as to her willingness to accept a challenge. To remain astride the rhino she must have a great balance and strength as well as a strong connection to the animal. Together the rhino and the woman exhibit an unusual teamwork. You can almost feel the earth shake under the pounding feet of the rhinoceros and the sense of momentum is palpable. This is an image of leadership, adventure and exotic lands.

Concept Photos Of A Rhinoceros

To create this concept photo of a rhinoceros I began with an image of the rhino photographed in a zoo. I used Photoshop to make the rhino look as if it is galloping...not the way a rhinoceros would really run...but a dramatic and clear to understand stance. There is no question that the rhino is charging at full speed. I photographed the model in my studio and used several shots to create the look of her hair and dress flowing in the breeze. The background consists of a field I photographed while on a trip to the island of Socotra off the coast of Yemen. The sky was photographed in Cancun, Mexico. Thus the image truly becomes an international one! I used Photoshop to composite all of the various layers into the finished photograph.

Just one example of a unexpected concept that this image can beautifully portray is that of managing big data. The rhino makes a great example of a large and unwieldy quantity of raw data and the woman is bringing under control...a situation that can apply to many different scenarios.

The concepts that can be illustrated by this woman and rhino stock photo are actually quite wide ranging in nature. The rhino obviously is a symbol of power, speed, durability and nature. As an armored beast, the rhino can be used as a metaphor for any product or service that is considered bullet proof, ultra-reliable, or really tough. The woman can represent courage, leadership, and daring as she guides the rhino forward. The fact that the woman is wearing a red dress indicates her power and boldness. That she is bare foot, and riding bareback, is an indication of teamwork with the rhino and "oneness" with nature. No matter what idea or concept this image illustrates, it is bound to be a powerful visual for communication. It is a quick read even at small internet thumbnails and is all the more powerful when seen as a poster or billboard.
