Funny Christmas Basset Hound Greeting Card

This funny picture of a Basset Hound in a snow storm was created as a humorous holiday greeting card for Marian Heath Greetings and features a bored looking Dog with his scarf flying and his hat blown right off in the swirling snow flakes. When creating photos for greeting cards we have to work far in advance. This image, finished by Stephanie D. Roeser for the John Lund Animal Antics collection on December 10th, 2011, is will be out in time for the holiday season in 2012.

A Funny Basset Hound In A Snow Storm

To create the snow for this funny Basset Hound photo, my partner Stephanie suggested we use powdered sugar...and it worked...sweet! We used two boxes of the fluffy stuff and created little mounds on a piece of white paper. I photographed it with my Canon 1DS MKIII using Speedotron Studio strobe units. Stephanie did the compositing work utilizing a basset hound I had photographed some years before. She created the snow flakes/storm in Photoshop.

Humorous Holiday Hounds

Each year we add a few more images to our Animal Antics collection of humors Holiday dog and cat photos...we now have over 300 images in our pet picture archive. While our primary focus is on cats and dogs, we also have elephants, mice, reindeer and numerous other creatures in our collection. We are equal opportunity photographers!
