Mongolian Warrior on horseback in a simulated Genghis Khan battle commemorating the great leader's birthday.

I was just outside Ulan Bator, Mongolia's capital, with several friends when we came unexpectedly upon a huge re-enactment of a Genghis Khan era battle featuring galloping horsemen on the famed Mustangs as they participated in a very credible military action. Watching the action made me feel like I was transported back in time.

Genghis Khan and his teeming hordes

Watching this re-enactment I felt like I was really seeing the great Genghis Khan and his teeming hordes. They rode with expert ferocity and daring. I believe every native Mongolian was born to ride a horse!

The action was amazing and realistic as the Mongolian horsemen brandished their bows, arrows and swords.
