Funny cat picture of a cat using a cell phone

Who wouldn't love this funny picture of a cat on a cell phone chatting away and rudely keeping other cats waiting in line in a fast food restaurant? This is definitely a cat-centric image with five cats in anthropomorphic poses. You can see the frustration in the faces of the waiting cats and the cat behind the counter taking those hamburger orders. We can all share the emotions of having to deal with rude people who use their cell phones in inappropriate times and manners. This image was originally created for greeting card use but is available for a variety of communications needs, particularly where humor and unique images are called for.

Creating Anthropomorphic Cat and Animal Photos

The most difficult aspect of creating these rather involved images of cats and other animals in human poses and situations is the photography. It is critical to be sure and get every part of every cat in the right lighting and angles to insure that the digital compositing process has all the necessary raw materials to complete the job with the detail that it takes to be convincing. It is a good idea to keep the lighting relatively flat so that if a paw or other animal part has to be flipped, then the lighting will still look consistent. I shoot with flat lighting but use adjustment layers to add the lightness, darkness and contrast that brings the dimensionality back into the image. Shadows are one of the most crucial elements of creating truly convincing composites. I prefer to create my own shadows with an airbrush tool rather than copying and pasting existing shadows. Creating my own shadow gives me much more flexibility. Cats, by the way, are not easy to photograph. Unlike dogs, that try and please you, cats only respond to food...and only then if they are hungry. When we photograph cats we use professionals and include animal trainers that know the individual felines. They know which cats and kittens are OK with being handled, which ones tend to "talk" more, and when to give the pets a break. It is pretty close to impossible to get good pictures of angry cats...unless, of course, angry is what you are after! I do live photographing cats though. I love their quirky personalities and their unparalleled athleticism.

Uses for stock pictures of funny cats

This image can be used for a wide variety of applications. Obviously it can be a great greeting card, but can also work as a calendar image, or in editorial or advertising and promotion applications. There is enough truth in the image to appeal to pretty much anyone's sense of humor. Humor in advertising imagery, if used appropriately, greatly increases the impact of imagery. Another factor that increases the potency of the photography is the unique nature of the image. How many of us have ever seen an image like this before? Not many! The first few times we see images with this kind of unusual content we pay far closer attention and are much more likely to read any accompanying text and headlines. Funny animal pictures make for great and entertaining advertising.
