Creating Concept Stock Photos Using Photoshop

Nineteen years ago when I first sat down in front of Photoshop (1990), it occurred to me that digital manipulation would be perfect for creating stock photos, concept stock photos in particular. I have never looked back. This image is a great example of how Photoshop can be used not only to be more productive, but to take advantage of opportunities. In this case I my girlfriend and I had just finished a bottle of wine at an outdoor cafe on the beach in Koh Samui. We decide to stroll along the water and watch the sunset. As I had my camera, and a now empty wine bottle, I decided to bring it along and create an image. I simple tossed the bottle in the water and fired off a few frames. I figured I could put a message in later using Photoshop. When it came time to actually assemble the composite photograph I realized I could add a twist that would separate this image from most of the other "message in a bottle" stock pictures by using a dollar bill instead of a written message.
